Title: [Imagefest] Kenny's box canyon

Indeed!

Since I today picked up no fewer than four packages, due to accumulating over the week and me not wnting to go pick up a package every other day, I decided a simple picture wasn't enough. Thus, a mini imagefest!

With special guest star Marisa (she's not new).

Every packagefester's most important tool!

Okay, probably the least exciting of the packages, but still. Books for the courses I'm taking right now.

First off from the game-related things, a 250 GB HDD for my XBox 360. Yay.

Get IN CONTROL with these fine products from Nintendo™.

The big one. The one I'm so glad I was able to pick up today.

Group shot of everything boxed...

...and unboxed. The very first thing I did with the golden Wiimote was remove that stupid Wiimote condom. Fuck those things, seriously.

I have a fun weekend ahead of me! :headbang:

Is that Marisa one of those creepy dolls that's always there no matter where you look and you're afraid it's following you and you can't ever sleep at night because you know it's always watching?

Also nice loot.

Yes. If you turn your back to it, it kills you with lasers.

I played Skyward Sword for about 2h 45m before my right arm said "Okay, it's time to stop playing". So I did a runthrough of Mega Man 10 with the Classic Controller. It's a nice thing!

Also, the answer to the question everyone's asking is white. Definitely white.

Fuck Europe. They get the nicer boxes for their shit. I'm mainly directing this at the 25th Anneversery CD box. We just got a stupid extra flip thing in the game case.

For clarifaction, that would also be the only thing; the box art's the same. Except there's a blue "hey there's a music cd in here" over where the 25th anniversary logo is, with the logo pushed down, but that's peripheral. Like the different rating board.

We're totally saving the planet more, though.

I want to say that box isn't reflective either. Ours is a semi-reflective paper. I could be wrong though, it's very hard to tell with pictures sometimes. I know that CE Box isn't though and I know our CE's box is.

Let's go picket Nintendo of America until they get the message.

whoa, you're taking linguistics classes?
Title: Re: [Imagefest] Kenny's box canyon
Post by: KennyMan666 on November 25, 2011, 07:48:22 PM
Yeah, at the moment. I needed to take some points at a university around here to keep qualifying for the apartment, and while it's really Japanese that's my primary subject (taking a web-based class on that now, too), writing is my secondary, so I found two classes I felt would fit. Semantics and... however you properly translate the other one. "Structure and function of language", I guess. For next semester I've signed up for a class on retorics and writing, as well as a Japanese-related class.

One thing I've learned is that linguistics people can never agree on things, and that there's about as many different opinions on certains points of language as there are people who study/have studied it.

People always never agree on things because of our big egos. It's built into us because we're one of the more "intelligent" species on the planet.

it's called syntax bro. i'm taking semantics now and i'm taking syntax next semester.
Title: Re: [Imagefest] Kenny's box canyon
Post by: Yoshi348 on November 26, 2011, 12:09:55 PM
You'd think the textbook in English called "beginning syntax" would give that away, but...

And er, wasn't there supposed to be some other boxes in this canyon?
Title: Re: [Imagefest] Kenny's box canyon

Nope. One was the books. One was the hard drive. One was the wiimote + nunchuk. And one was Zelda.

:crate:

This was worth a mini-update because of the sheer size of the package compared to what actually was in it.

Actually, I'll probably just post pictures in this topic any time I get a box. The canyon grows.

That package is huge! That means it has huge guts contents!

...nope, not really. Amazon likes putting small things in big packages and padding with paper.

Bonus image including the games I bought yesterday. Was a buy 3 pay for 2 deal on used DS and Wii games at a game store.

So yeah. Xbox 360 VGA cable and wired controller. Won't have to change the component input between Wii and X360 anymore, and now I don't need to use the arcade stick to play Sonic Generations.

Aw yeah. :headbang:

Took you long enough to get Okamiden.

Dude, I got the first Ōkami just a little over a month ago (October 20th) but haven't actually played it at all yet. So Ōkamiden will have to wait too, as I hear I'll probably get spoilers if I play it first. Otherwise I would have lots of time to play that while I'm at my parent's place for Christmas.

In retrospect I should have removed that 3 for 2 sticker before I took the picture.

Oh well.

You'll just have to

Considering it's a sequel to Okami yeah you will. It's a sad game too. I had tears by the end.

I don't know why, but when I bought it I was under the impression it was a prequel, so I thought it would be okay to play it first. A trip to wikipedia set me straight, though.

I really hope you got the PS2 version of Okami or else you're in for a world of disappointment.
Title: Re: [Imagefest] Kenny's box canyon
Post by: KennyMan666 on December 03, 2011, 12:43:11 PM
Yeah, that's what I got. I heard the Wii version had some issues with recognizing shapes.
Title: Re: [Imagefest] Kenny's box canyon
Post by: staringvacantly on December 03, 2011, 06:38:43 PM
It does, but once you figure out what does and doesn't work for shapes it's cool.
Title: Re: [Imagefest] Kenny's box canyon
Post by: Soaprman on December 03, 2011, 11:08:23 PM
Yeah, I never had much trouble with the Wii version. The only moves I couldn't do reliably were the optional upgraded ones.

Another mini-update I knew I had to do because of the size of the package.

You might remember me bitching about Amazon's BIG PACKAGE for small things.

Well, I recently ordered something from Zavvi (http://www.zavvi.com).

It was this big. And when I say that I mean not big at all.

Yep, it was pretty exactly the size of what was in it. It's about time I get Smooth Moves - I'm a huge Wario Ware addict, I've had a Wii for over a year and I didn't get Smooth Moves until now!

And bonus picture, all the Wii games I've bought recently. Ish. Sin & Punishment and Muramasa actually arrived on the 11th, had been bought used by a guy on a forum. Still haven't actually played any of them because I've had zero time!

I still don't have a lot of time since I have to study quite a bit this weekend but Wario Ware fits for short playing sessions in breaks.

So, I guess, oh yeah! :headbang:
Title: [Imagefest] Kenny's box canyon - A Very Special Episode
Post by: KennyMan666 on May 29, 2012, 12:32:20 PM
:crate: <-- Imagine it's a big one

Some of you thought it wouldn't happen.

Some of you thought I would give up hope.

But you were all wrong.

Welcome to today's very special episode of Kenny's Box Canyon.

International Packagefest - Kenny's Half

So I got a slip of paper in the mail today saying I had a package to pick up. They had tried to deliver it yesterday. I was home all the time yesterday but apparently the driver had just assumed the door needed a code and just left. Pah.

So I called them. Learned where I could pick it up. It was close to me.

And so, I ventured out...

(many big pictures in this update)

From the picture I had been shown, I thought the box was large, so I brought my little pull-cart-wagon-thing along. More on that later.

A post pick up place.

Damn right you better be sorry. Well, it was smaller than I thought. I could easily have carried it.

But since I had it, why not just strap it to the cart to save effort in carrying.

According to the customs form, there are 24 books, 1 DVD recorder and 5 toys in the box. Oh Saber, you so silly. Let's count that when we get to it.

Most important tool, etc.

Bubblewrap! Hell yeah!

A box in the box. Whoa.

That is quite a random assorment of stuff!

The most important thing: My Dazzle video capture device. Now I can actually finally record my speedruns. So, that's 1 DVD recorder.

One DS flashcart. I still haven't figured out how to make it run any games yet. 1 toy!

One Han Solo figurine! Not actually glowing. That's the camera flash. 2 toys!

Two... uh... I have no fucking idea what these are supposed to be. 4 toys?

...three bullets and two coins. I... uh... toy? I... I don't know.

...a rope. Okay, if this is Saber's idea of a toy, I'm out of here.

And below all that stuff: BOOKS!

LOTS of books. Let's count them! By my count, 25 books, so that's one more than listed! However, if you notice, there's two books that have duplicates. So it's 23 uniqe books. What's inbetween 25 and 23? That's right, 24, which is the amount of books Saber has listed! Maybe he's clever!

...nah, he's just stupid, lazy and gay.

BOX EMPTY. Only the bubblewrap left. Which I guess can qualify as the fifth toy since I really don't want to count the bullets, coins and rope as toys.

It took a fucking long while, but he finally came through.

Bonus pictures of connecting a Dazzle to a NES:

Indeedily.

Post by: Soaprman on May 30, 2012, 01:55:05 PM
It doesn't look like Charizard at all... Charizard isn't black anywhere. About the closest pokémon match you'll find color-wise is Pignite. But it's a loose resemblance and that seems an unlikely thing to mail someone! It's probably not a pokémon.

I guess color availability could be a thing too. Whatever it is might not be those same colors.

You say that like people mail each other Gyarados pipe cleaners all the time.

You also say that like he wasn't mailed a frayed rope and like you haven't mailed even weirder shit.
