I'm doubtful we can get a good mafia game here personally but no harm in checking! I'm willing to host it too while we're at it so... here's a signup thread.

While you're signing up, give a bit of extra info too!

• How long of days you would like.
  I'm gonna default to 48 hour days/nights (so 4 days in RL is one full cycle), although I prefer 24 hour ones but I realize that's probably not practical
• What kind of mafia you would like.
  For small games (5-8 people) I'd probably come up with some hyper mafia set of roles with one or two really zany ones.
  For larger games I'd have more traditional roles/power ratios
  I could do a MtG themed game with drastically different rules from standard Mafia I have mostly-planned but I'm paranoid it will fail for a number of reasons

48 hour days sound fine to me, and I don't really care what the "theme" is.  I think we already had a couple of magic themed games though?

I like shorter days but 48 hours to a day or night is probably as low as you can reasonably go. I like hypermafia and generally prefer unthemed games. As a nonplayer of MtG I'm probably not going to get much out of that theme, but I'll definitely still participate in whatever theme ends up happening.

I'd very much like to host a mafia game in the future btw! I used to do it all the time in IRC back when I was a regular there.

Yeah, 48's our standard and it tends to work well. I had suggested 72 for the last game just because we were all out of the swing of things and I didn't know how "around" everyone would be.

I'll be wrapping up signups... Monday I think, around noon PST. For this many people I'm on the border between hyper mafia and normal mafia, but it sounds like 48 hour days is locked in.
