From a designer standpoint indie developers not being able to self publish games is kind of bullshit.
From a pure gamer standpoint: Put this into perspective: you have to patch to get these features. Who's to say they won't revert it back to the always online structure behind our backs, forcing us into a DRM hell. It just seems like something they'd do, get the system out there as a public stress test then bam here comes that DRM rearing it's ugly head.
The arrogance the company's spokesperson Don Mattrick had when questioned about it at E3 also was not appealing to me at all. I'm happily standing by my decision with my pre-ordered PS4. The price is nice, the company is trustable and I know I'm buying a gaming machine that just happens to let me watch Netflix, not a cable box that also happens to play games.
Really at this point it's more PS4 has more games that appeal to me though regardless.
