The Banjo-Kazooie Symphony
« on: May 24, 2013, 02:19:25 AM »

I think anyone who ever talked to me ever would know I am batshit about the game Banjo Kazooie.  The level design, writing and music are just about the best things since ever. So you can imagine my flip out session when I heard that a fellow who makes rad game music into orchestral rad game music decided to release a tribute album to my fav game ever.

Here is the link to some previews of tracks.   You owe it to yourself to check this out click here goddamn it.

Theres plenty of samples of the album and though it does cost 10 bucks (to pay off licensing fees and such) its a officially recognized album by the game's composer Grant Kirkhope!   check out the main site here for more details.

All I know about Banjo-Kazooie is from the fest you and krem did a while back, and iirc, music was actually played over one of the levels because it was so bad.  Maybe I should find a real physical copy of the game and play it sometime....

Panic not! Even though it's not its own named track, "Squirrel" did indeed make as part of "Didn't Make the Cut".

I was just a millimeter away from panic mode.

I was browsing his works and noticed he has a pretty sweet Chrono Trigger mix out, too. I may have to get that one as a bonus track. :)

Yeah, I picked up the Super Metroid album when first visiting this guy's site. It's fantastic. I'll probably pick up all the other ones too.

One of the Rare in-house composers responsible for the original Donkey Kong Country's soundtrack is returning to the simian series.

David Wise is returning to the Donkey Kong Country franchise as the composer for Donkey Kong Country Returns: Tropical Freeze. Formerly an in-house composer at Rare, Wise worked on titles such as Battletoads, Donkey Kong Country, and Diddy Kong Racing.
