Forum Rules/FAQ

(1/1)

Soaprman:
These are the forum's rules. Live by them. Die by them. :smokin:

* Consider this forum NSFW because nobody really cares what you post, but it'd be nice if you'd give warnings before posting explicit stuff.
* Chillax and be respectful. We're all friends here. If you're an asshole or just plain annoying we'll kick you out.
* Don't do anything that would make us have to adopt a "formal" rule list. Use your common sense.
If you want to report a bug or request a change, visit the Bug Reports/Change Requests thread!

Soaprman:
We have some custom bbcode tags that aren't visible on the post form but may be useful to know about.

Media tags

These tags can be used to embed media (audio, video) inside forum posts.

[audio]http://thedailypos.org/misc/spooky.wav[/audio]
(Works with most types of audio files. wav, mp3, ogg, etc.)

[webm]http://thedailypos.org/misc/chocobo.webm[/webm]
(Designed for .webm but could possibly work with other videos?)

[youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ[/youtube]
(No preview because I don't want to embed a YouTube in this post. Use this sparingly because it causes pages to load slowly.)

Magic: the Gathering tags

We have card tags to make it easier to bring up cards in conversation. These bring up a new window with information on the card.

[card]Jace, the Mind Sculptor[/card]
Jace, the Mind Sculptor

[card=Jace, the Mind Sculptor]bitch ass motherfucker[/card]
bitch ass motherfucker

CSS-enabled tags

The img tag, as well as new span and div tags, can be styled with whatever CSS you want. The only thing that is forced is position:relative so you can't cover other people's posts with your nonsense.

[div=width:200px;border:2px dotted white;]Duck is the common name for a large number of species in the Anatidae family of birds, which also includes swans and geese. The ducks are divided among several subfamilies in the Anatidae family; they do not represent a monophyletic group (the group of all descendants of a single common ancestral species) but a form taxon, since swans and geese are not considered ducks. Ducks are mostly aquatic birds, mostly smaller than the swans and geese, and may be found in both fresh water and sea water.[/div]

If you know your stuff, you can get really elaborate with these.

Other tags

These are other dumb tags that we have for whatever reason.

Tips and Tricks

Here is the styling I used for these headers if you want to use it:
[div=width:100%;border-bottom:1px solid;display:inline-block;]Other tags[/div]

If you want to write bbcode like this without it parsing, just stick some junk tags inside the actual bbcode tags:
[[b][/b]div=width:100%;border-bottom:1px solid;display:inline-block;][b]Other tags[/b][/div[b][/b]]
