Well, for a long time, the "page" it showed the image on was all white. This was fine.
A few versions ago, they changed the "page" to be dark grey with a bit of a texture to it. This was very good.
With 15, they kept the "page" background the same grey, but put a white box just behind the image. This is very bad. It gives the impression that the transparency on the image was done incorrectly, and looks fugly to boot. I've always used something like that to "test" my images to make sure they exported correctly since I would forget to fix/change transparency settings on occasion. Basically, to me, this was an outright feature removal.
Truth be told, I'm a little unhappy with Firefox's direction in general lately. I still strongly prefer it because of the fantastic extensions I use, but the general "make it more like Chrome" thing that's been going on kind of bothers me. I don't like that they remove features or move the toggles for them to about:config.
If I wanted my browser to be more like Chrome, I'd use Chrome.
